Terms
Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("these Terms") set out the conditions of use for the website ("this site") operated by Meritcs ("we," "us," "our organization"). Visitors and users of this site ("you") should agree to these Terms before using it.
1. What this site is
This site is a portal introducing, explaining, and visualizing research results (the "DOI-published works") published by our representative (mohumohu neco) and this organization on the academic repository Zenodo, among others.
Some pages in our Documentation section (SQL walkthroughs, pipeline explanations, and similar) directly reproduce SQL queries or code from the DOI-published works alongside their explanation, on this site itself. These are published under the licensing policy in Section 2. For the primary source material in its complete form (full source code downloads and similar), each page is designed to point you to the corresponding DOI-published work on Zenodo.
2. Copyright and licensing policy
Copyright in the text, images, design, and other content on this site, and in the DOI-published works it introduces, belongs entirely to their author (mohumohu neco / Meritcs).
All content on this site (the DOI-published works, and this site's own text and code excerpts that explain them) is consistently licensed under CC BY-NC (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial). You may use these works under that license for non-commercial purposes, including research and citation.
Commercial use without our permission is prohibited across the board. This includes not only commercial reproduction, adaptation, or incorporation into the commercial evaluation or training of an AI model, but also purely internal use that is never published or sold externally — for example, building it into an in-house tool or an unpublished internal study. Under CC BY-NC, "non-commercial" turns on whether the use is directed toward commercial advantage, not on whether the result is ever sold or made public. If you'd like to use this work commercially, contact us first to discuss terms.
3. Disclaimer
We make reasonable efforts to verify the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of the information on this site, and of the source code and queries published in the DOI-published works, but we make no warranty of any kind, express or implied.
We and our representative accept no responsibility for any damage or disadvantage — to you or to any third party — arising from your use of this site, or from downloading or running anything from a DOI-published work (source code, SQL queries, datasets, and the like), including data loss, system malfunction, wasted computing resources, or problems in your own research. Use everything here entirely at your own risk.
The research on this site and in the DOI-published works uses publicly available datasets, which may include medical images. (See the Technology page for the exact datasets currently in use and their citations.) Even where medical images are used, this work is not intended for clinical diagnosis or medical decision-making of any kind. The disclaimer above applies to any outcome arising from the use of this site or the DOI-published works, regardless of whether that use is medical in nature or not.
4. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms as needed, without prior notice to users. Revised Terms take effect from the moment they're posted on this site.
